Someone has done a mock-up Times opinion piece as if Peter Parker was commenting on events from the Ultimate Universe titles. Very well done. Check it out here.

The Mad Genius of Comics

The New York Times has an excellent review on The Art of Harvey Kurtzman: The Mad Genius of Comics here : http://ow.ly/jA7d .

I never realized how much of an impact he had on popular culture (the Times called him the one of the most important figures in postwar America). Here's a taste of his influence (from the book jacket):
Harvey Kurtzman discovered Robert Crumb and gave Gloria Steinem her first job in publishing when he hired her as his assistant. Terry Gilliam also started at his side, met an unknown John Cleese in the process, and the genesis of Monty Python was formed. Art Spiegelman has stated on record that he owes his career to him. And he's one of Playboy publisher Hugh Hefner's favorite artists.

Response from Stark Industries

As you saw in a previous blog posting, Stark Industries was recruiting heavily during the SDCC, and were handing out business cards with their job posting website. I applied for a position several days ago, and was pleased to get this response back from them yesterday!

No clue on what division is hiring yet, but this is viral marketing at its finest!
